Week 1 – 9/11-9/17

These screenshots show a post by Glossier on Instagram announcing a giveaway event for those who cannot participate or attend their “You Look Good Tour”. Glossier has planned this tour around different cities in the United States to give their customers the opportunity to try out some of their products in person, give away free items, and hopefully gain more publicity and customers for their brand through this tour. In the article titled “Glossier hits the road for its first college campus tour” from Glossy.co, they point out that many of the tour locations are very close to college campuses, as Glossier’s biggest customer age group are likely college age. They also understand that not every one of their customers will be around any of the locations for the tour, so by doing Instagram giveaways, they give an opportunity for an even larger audience to receive some of their products for free. Just based on this post, it seems that the company cares about their customers, even ones who can’t spend outrageous amounts of money on their products. They want to give others an opportunity to use their products when they might not have otherwise been able to afford it.
