1: Orientation Club Fair (Sep. 2)

During orientation there was a club fair to show off the different clubs that UNE has to offer. My roommates and I went to this fair because we were all interested in seeing what clubs we could join. I signed up for club tennis, and convinced my roommates to sign up with me even though they had never played tennis before. I also put myself on the email lists for a few other clubs, like Generation Action and the Anime club, but I haven’t actually gone to any of their meetings yet. Overall it was a really cool experience because we got to see how many clubs there were and how varied the clubs were in terms of activities.

2: Sexapalooza and The Sex Show (Sep. 2)

One of my roommates and I decided to go to Sexapalooza and The Sex Show after the club fair. Neither of us knew what it was really going to be like, but it sounded interesting. There were a bunch of minigames where you could win prizes, and they gave out stickers and coloring pages. The Sex Show was a pannel of guests who were answering questions about sex and giving tips on how to practice safe sex. It was really informative.

3: Neon Night (Sep. 3)

One of my roommates and I went to a Neon Night event that had live music, carnival games, and a food truck. We mostly went for the food truck because it was a PB&J food truck with different kinds of peanut butter sandwiches. I got a “s’mores taco” and half a grilled cheese which was really good. My roommate and I sat near the live music and listened while we ate and the performers were really good.

4: Funtown Splashtown Trip (Sep. 4)

UNE was offering free admission to Funtown Splashtown for the day, so my roommate and I signed up and went. It was really fun and since we got there relatively early, there weren’t super long lines and we ended up getting to ride everything we wanted to within the first hour and a half we were there. We got fries for lunch, and then decided to kill time at the little arcade until the van was ready to take us back. We played a few games and I actually won 1,000 tickets on one of the games. Overall it was a really fun experience and I would not have gone if UNE hadn’t provided free tickets and transportation.

5: Football Game (Sep. 10)

My roommate and I went to one of the football games on September 10th. I don’t know anything about football but my roommate knew some things so she was explaining the rules to me while we watched. It was really interesting and UNE was actually winning so everyone in the stands was really excited. We only stayed until halftime because it was really hot and neither of us brought water, but it was still really fun to watch.

6: Free Money Game Show (Sep. 30)

During Parent Weekend my mom came to campus and we went to Free Money Game Show together. Basically it was a “Guess the Song” game where a small clip of the song was played and you had to guess either what movie it was from, or what artist sang it. Even though neither my mom nor I won, it was still really fun and I came in 4th one of the rounds. It was nice to see my mom on campus because I hadn’t seen her in a while and whenever I did it was at home, so it was nice that she came to do something with me on campus.

7: Success and Succulents (Oct. 11)

Before midterms, some members of SASC were giving out succulents and offering tips for studying for midterms. My roommates and I all went mostly because we wanted free succulents. The midterm tips were also good because I’m not very good at studying because I’ve never really had to study for a test in high school. Overall it was just a fun activity to do with my roommates.
